2018 Greater San Diego Science and Engineering Fair Highlights and Results
The GSDSEF has a new publication, The Science Fair Experience!!! It takes you on a photo journey of the 2018 64th Annual Greater San Diego Science & Engineering Fair. Highlights include Student Check-in and Project Set-up Day, Judging Day, the Awards Ceremony, and the San Diego Zoo Global Tour.

2018 Highlights:
In the 64th Annual GSDSEF we had:
- 600 students who participated in the GSDSEF
- 4 senior division students who are going to the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
- 89 students (grades 7-12) who qualified for and participated in the California Science and Engineering Fair
- 60 students (grade 7-8) who are eligible for the Broadcom MASTERS competition
- Nearly 400 judges who worked in teams to decide categorical awards

GSDSEF STUDENT RESULTS at AFFILIATED SCIENCE & ENGINEERING FAIRS
2018 INTEL International Science and Engineering Fair Results:
Nearly 1800 students from 75 countries and across the United States and its territories participated in the INTEL ISEF in Pittsburg, PA from May 13 - May 18, 2018.
Congratulations to the GSDSEF Sweepstakes Award winners: Philippe Hansen-Estruch, Rachana Madhukara, Alina Pollner, and Ronak Roy who were excellent in representing the GSDSEF. They earned several Grand Awards and Special Awards!
GRAND AWARDS:
Indo-U.S. Science & Technology Visit to India Award:
In partnership with the Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum, Intel is pleased to award a scientific and cultural exchange visit to India. Winners will showcase their research projects at the National Fair of India – Initiative in Research and Innovation in Science (IRIS). In addition to the participation at IRIS, the students will receive an opportunity to visit research institutions and universities and interact with the key scientific leadership in India.
